12 of the Best FS22 Production Factory Mods
Factories have become an essential part of the game with the introduction of production chains in Farming Simulator 22 (FS22).
Here are my favorite Farming Simulator 22 factory and production mods.
1. Multi Production Factory
This is one of the most versatile placeable factories in Farming Simulator 22 (FS22.) You can use it to produce four different products:
- Stones and water become lime.
- Manure, liquid manure, and digestate produce solid fertilizer.
- Seeds are made by adding wheat, solid fertilizer, and water.
- To create the mineral feed, just add hay, potatoes, silage, and rapeseed (canola.)
Why buy and place 4 different factories when you can just have 1 that does it all?
Another good thing about this multi-products plant is that it won’t dig too deep into your pockets. It’s reasonably priced considering all the products you can make.
What do I like the most? The recipes are printed on a large board on the factory wall. Thanks to it, I never have to spend time researching ingredients.
I searched outside the factory to find an activation trigger. Since I couldn’t find it, I just used the main menu instead.
- Factory price: 170,000.
- Input: Water, stones, manure, slurry, digestate, solid fertilizer, wheat, hay, potatoes, silage, canola.
- Product: Lime, solid fertilizer, seeds, mineral feed.
- Output per hour: 2,000 liters.
- Modder: LSMT Modding Team Agestar.
- Errors: No.
2. Modular BGA
Are you a BGA nerd? (BGA is short for BioGasAnlage, German for Biogas Plant.) Then please take a look at this massive modular BGA pack.
The collection contains an impressive 22 different modules. However, you only need two of them to get started.
Here are the required modules, the ones you need to get the BGA to start printing money:
- A bunker (hopper) that you fill with biomass (silage, manure, and sugar beet cuts.)
- And a fermenter that processes the biomass, converting it to electricity, digestate, and methane.
Note: Some bunkers have integrated beet cutters. They will accept non-cut sugar beets. There are also differences in what the outputs of the fermenters are.
Oh, there’s also a ramp in the pack. It makes it possible to fill up the bunkers from trailers.
Remember that all the modules need to be activated in the production chain menu.
The pros:
- I love how much flexibility this mod offers. It lets you create a BGA from scratch, with endless design and constructing options.
- The mod adds more ways to earn money with biogas and biomass.
- All the modules look amazing; each comes with sound effects.
The cons.
- It’s easy to get overwhelmed. This BGA mod is like a puzzle; you might have to spend some time figuring out where the different pieces need to go.
- More modules mean more clutter in your production chain menu.
I suggest that you play around with the mod, test it, perhaps in a temporary game save. It will be beneficial to familiarize yourself with the mod before using it to build a lasting BGA.
- Input: Manure, liquid manure, silage, sugar beet, sugar beet cuts.
- Output: Electricity, methane, digestate.
- Prices: From 56,000–190.000.
- Modder: Kastor [D-S-Agrarservice].
- Platforms: All.
- Errors: No.
3. Multifermenter
This is the Multifermenter factory mod for Farming Simulator 22 (FS22.) It turns grass and chaff into silage, but not only that.
You can also create silage from potatoes. The mod also adds a new fill type to the game: Biomaterial.
A biomaterial is a waste product from other production chains. However, I have yet to discover factories that create it. Maybe it will be a feature in upcoming mods from the modder ZoddelZockt.
The mod looks cool. The unloading pit is covered with safety doors that need to be opened before you can start dumping.
The fermenting silos are conveniently spacious. The max capacity for each fill type is 1 million liters. Kudos to everyone who manually harvests 1 million liters of potatoes in one sitting!
- Price: 120,000.
- Input: Chaff, grass, potatoes, biomaterial.
- Output: Silage.
- Modder: ZoddelZockt.
- Errors: No.
- Platforms: All.
4. Snow Melter and Water Production
With seasonal changes as a base game feature in FS22, many players have wondered what to do with all the snow.
You can use plows, snowblowers, and loader buckets to remove the snow. Thanks to the Snow Smelter Mod, you can also make water.
The mod consists of four different, placeable objects:
- The snow smelter with a water storage capacity of 500,000 liters.
- Two water tanks with different storage capacities (20 m³ and 200 m³.)
- A stone well that provides water without having to add snow to it.
The snow smelter is easy to operate. Add snow to it (90,000 liters at a time) and let the smelter do its job.
The water tanks can distribute water to greenhouses. Add water to them, then let the game’s mechanics ensure your plants get water.
The stone well can also distribute water to greenhouses. However, you have to pay more for the water since you’re not adding it yourself.
All in all, a superb production mod that makes snow more useful and greenhouse maintenance easier.
- Input: Snow.
- Output: Water.
- Prices: 65,000.
- Modder: NYKK3.
- Platforms: All.
- Errors: No.
5. Lizard Hay Dryer and Silage Fermenter
The Lizard hay dryer and silage fermenter is a placeable mod for Farming Simulator 22. It’s actually two factories in one:
- Hay dryer – Turns grass into hay.
- Silage fermenter – Ferments grass to become silage.
On top of that, you can also use the factory’s storage capacity to store up to 430,000 liters of grass, hay, and straw. The silo also has room for 360,000 liters of silage.
How to Create Hay
To use the Lizard dryer for drying hay, you need to add some straws to the mix, 5 % to be precise. Here’s an example to illustrate the ratio:
- 10,000 liters of grass.
- Requires 500 liters of straw.
Choose the Right Recipe
Because this factory produces more than one product, be sure to select the correct recipe in the Production Chains menu.
Here are the ingredients that you need to feed the factory with and the outcome:
Input
- Grass
- Straw
- Chaff
Output
- Hay
- Silage
The best thing about this mod is how it removes the need for tedding grass to become hay. It also makes silage production easier in Farming Simulator 22.
- Products: Hay, Silage.
- Output per hour: 5.000 liters.
- Factory price: 110.000.
- Modder: Hasco.
- Errors: No.
- Platforms: All.
6. Industrial Bakery
Are you’re ready to crank up the number of produced bread and cakes? This mod makes large-scale baking a piece of cake in FS22.
The recipes are the same, but the bakers work significantly faster:
- Bread is created 5 times faster than the original bakeries.
- The cake baking process is also 5 times faster.
Unfortunately, the storage capacity for the ingredients, like flour, sugar, milk, and eggs, hasn’t changed. Honestly, I was hoping for increased storage too.
No, I won’t lose sleep over it. It’s still an excellent mod for when you progress, and your yields are just getting bigger.
- Input: Flour, sugar, milk, egg, butter, strawberry.
- Output: Bread and cakes.
- Price: 90.000.
- Modder: Dogface.
- Platforms: All.
- Errors: No.
7. Potato Factory
Potatoes are crops that don’t have a production chain in the base game. Now they do, thanks to this potato factory mod. It adds five different products based on the root crop.
- Potato chips: Requires potatoes and sunflower oil.
- Waffles from potatoes: It is made from potatoes and flour.
- French fries: Need potatoes.
- Croquettes: A recipe that requires potatoes and corn.
- Potato salad: To make this one, add potatoes, milk, and onions.
Onions?
You might have noticed that one of the recipes requires onions? So how do we get onions when they’re not a crop in the vanilla game?
Easy! The modder has made a greenhouse that produces onions for us.
Where to Sell?
All products from the potato processing plant can be sold at some of the base game’s selling points, even the onions. On Elmcreek, Goldcrest Valley is happy to buy your products.
There’s also another option.
The modder has added a new selling point that wants your potato-based products.
Awesome for Potato Farmers
I’m so happy that we get this mod. I love working with potatoes in FS22. Finally, I can do more with them other than sell them.
A minor snag is that some of the texts are in German only, but I think that’s something most of us can live with.
- Input: Potatoes, sunflower oil, flour, corn, milk, onions.
- Output: Potato chips, waffles, fries, croquettes, potato salad.
- Prices: 85,000 (factory), 15,000 (onion greenhouse), 65,000 (sell-point.)
- Modder: DonnyBresko.
- Errors: No.
8. Farm Dairy
This dairy mod will make you more money than other dairies. You don’t have to pay the production fee. Instead, you can sell milk-based products directly to customers, keeping more of the revenue.
There are actually two dairies in this mod:
- One farm dairy with realistic storage volumes (10 m³ for milk, 3.6 m³ for sugar.)
- And an unrealistic version (100 m³ for milk and sugar.)
Both dairies create the same products:
- Butter and cheese.
- Raw milk and chocolate.
However, the unrealistic version has much more storage capacity for each product. It also creates the products a lot faster.
I enjoy the mod. It’s nice that it’s so tiny and easy to place. It will fit almost anywhere.
The only thing I might moan about is what the modder has chosen for the factory facility. I have yet to see real-world farm dairies placed inside shipping containers…
- Input: Milk and sugar.
- Output: Butter, cheese, chocolate, and raw milk.
- Prices: 10,000 and 30,000.
- Modder: Disturbed Simulations.
- Platforms: All.
- Errors: No.
9. Forage Factory (Total Mixed Ration–TMR)
Making Total Mixed Ration (TMR) manually, with bales, front loaders, and mixer trailers is oddly satisfying. It’s almost therapeutic.
That is, however, until I have a lot of cows that need to eat. That’s why this forage factory is so valuable.
The recipe is almost the same as for manual forage-making. You need to add straw, silage, mineral feed, and grass. In other words: no need for tedding if you use the factory to create TMR.
After a while, you can get correctly mixed forage out of the factory.
Note that the actual production plant price is pretty high, though. You’ll be set back 170,000 if you decide to buy it.
Also, I couldn’t find a trigger outside the factory to access the production menu. Instead, I opened the main menu and scrolled down to the factories.
- Factory price: 170,000.
- Input: Silage, grass, mineral feed, straw.
- Product: Forage (TMR.)
- Output per hour: 2,000 liters.
- Modder: LSMT Modding Team Agestar.
- Errors: No.
10. Stone Crushing Lime Production with Lights, Solar Panels
What about a Farming Simulator 22 factory that makes you money, even when you don’t activate it?
Yes, this mod is first and foremost used to create lime from stones you collect in your fields. However, the small production plant also includes solar panels that make you 52 per hour.
Other than that, I’m delighted with the production efficiency. 1,000 liters of stones turn into 4,000 liters of lime. It’s also nice that the max capacity is a hefty 250,000 liters, albeit somewhat unrealistic…
- Factory price: 15,000.
- Input: Stones.
- Product: Lime.
- Output per hour: 80,000 liters.
- Modder: Flusty94.
- Errors: No.
11. Fertilizer Production Factory
Here’s a production factory mod that lets you make your own solid fertilizer in Farming Simulator 22. However, before starting production, you need to buy the factory and place it on your land.
There are two recipes for this factory. Both end up as solid fertilizer:
- Manure and slurry.
- Manure and digestate.
You can offload the manure into the manure storage while slurry and digestate go into the liquid manure pit.
After a while, you can get the fertilizer via the unloading pipe to the side of the factory building.
Input
- Solid manure
- Slurry
- Digestate
Output
- Solid fertilizer
It’s a great mod because it basically gives you free fertilizer if you ignore all the work that goes into creating manure and the liquids required.
- Products: Solid fertilizer.
- Output per hour: 1.000 liters.
- Factory price: 195.000.
- Modder: FedAction LetsPlay.
- Errors: No.
12. Seed Production Factory
Are you looking for a solution for cheaper seeds in Farming Simulator 22? This production factory mod might be what you’re looking for.
Once you’ve bought the factory and placed it on your farmland, you’re ready to start making seeds for your next harvest.
You basically need two ingredients: Whole grain and solid fertilizer.
The whole grain can be one of these three:
- Wheat.
- Corn.
- Barley.
All ingredients can be offloaded into the unloading hoppers in front of the factory building. After a while, you can get the seeds from the loading chute to the side.
Input
- Fertilizer
- Barley, wheat, corn
Output
- Seeds
Sure, you might have to pay for fertilizer. However, you can also use fertilizer from the fertilizer factory above. That way, you’ll reduce the cost significantly.
- Products: Seeds.
- Output per hour: 1.000 liters.
- Factory price: 195.000.
- Modder: FedAction LetsPlay.
- Errors: No.
